Description
Classic Polish dish of carrots and peas, simple and healthy, perfect as a side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups carrots, sliced
- 2 cups peas (fresh or frozen)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Water
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the sliced carrots. Cook for about 5 minutes.
- Add the peas and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the carrots and peas are tender.
- Drain the vegetables and return them to the pot.
- Add butter, sugar, salt, and pepper to the vegetables, gently stirring until the butter melts and coats the vegetables.
- Serve warm as a side dish.
Notes
Enhance flavor with fresh ingredients; adjust butter or sugar to taste. Adding a splash of lemon juice can elevate the dish.
