Description
Traditional Polish pea soup that warms and satisfies, perfect for cold days.
Ingredients

- 1 cup green peas (dried)
- 4 cups water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 2 potatoes, diced
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Marjoram to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil or butter
Instructions
- Soak the green peas for several hours or overnight.
- In a large pot, heat oil or butter and add chopped onion, carrot, and celery; sauté for a few minutes.
- Add soaked peas and water, bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for about 60-90 minutes until peas are tender.
- Add diced potatoes and cook until soft.
- Season with salt, pepper, and marjoram before serving.
Notes
Serve hot, optionally with fresh bread or topped with sausage or bacon for added flavor.
