Description

A delicious traditional Polish honey cake that combines the aroma of honey and spices, perfect for various occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon gingerbread spice
  • 2 cups sour cream (for layering)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and gingerbread spice.
  3. In another container, melt butter with honey and sugar, then add eggs and mix well.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, and mix thoroughly.
  5. Pour the batter into a baking pan and bake for about 30-40 minutes.
  6. After cooling, cut the cake into two pieces and layer with sour cream.
  7. Top the cake with crushed nuts or chocolate as desired.
