- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon gingerbread spice
- 2 cups sour cream (for layering)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and gingerbread spice.
- In another container, melt butter with honey and sugar, then add eggs and mix well.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, and mix thoroughly.
- Pour the batter into a baking pan and bake for about 30-40 minutes.
- After cooling, cut the cake into two pieces and layer with sour cream.
- Top the cake with crushed nuts or chocolate as desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before use. Consider adding nuts or raisins to the batter for extra taste.
