Ingredients

- 500g all-purpose flour
- 300g sugar
- 250ml milk
- 200g butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 packet of yeast
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and salt together.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the milk, lemon zest, and vanilla extract to the mixture.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool before glazing with icing.
Notes
Add lemon zest for extra flavor. This cake is best enjoyed the next day.
