Description

Traditional Easter cakes that are fluffy, moist, and filled with citrus aromas, ideal for celebrating the holiday.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 300g sugar
  • 250ml milk
  • 200g butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and salt together.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until creamy.
  4. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the milk, lemon zest, and vanilla extract to the mixture.
  6. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool before glazing with icing.

Notes

Add lemon zest for extra flavor. This cake is best enjoyed the next day.
